Free Puppy Training Tips
I need help house training my puppy?
I adopted a puppy from a shelter a few months ago and am having trouble house training him. I have had dogs in the past and crate training has always worked with them, but not with this dog. The main problem is, despite not sleeping, often it pees in his cage. He knows he is supposed to go outside, but when I'm not going to urinate all over his cage and often sleep in it if no one in my clean house immediately. We have tried puppy pads, but tear up. He is almost 7 months old and I feel it should be almost old enough to be admitted into the house without supervision, but not I do that until I'm sure it will be mostly free of accidents. Does anyone have suggestions on how to stop him from urinating in his crate?
Put your nose in it! Let him know that is unacceptable! We got our puppy and she is potty trained now. (She is 5 1 / 2 months old! Y is 2 months when we got it) Another good method is to keep on a schedule. Maggie, my Boston, we know that in the morning she goes to the bathroom then eat and go to the bathroom # 2 in 5-10 min. then at 10:30 going to the bathroom again at 12:00 will go to the bathroom again and then after dinner, and so on! She knows that when its time to swim and helps him. After putting his nose in it and hit them, remember they are just like a child, take them out and tell them to go to the bathroom. . . . I know you just go, but this helps them know what's wrong with the house and that is where they are supposed to go. They also say that if you do not feed or let your dog drink after 7 will not have to go. Good Luck!
